Reunion Dinner...
this year's reunion dinner was very reflective. the hrs leading upto it i mean. i thot alot abt grandpa. thnking back tt it was only this time last year when we took a family photo at grandma's place. i miss him, eventhough he hasn't spoken in many years, but it's the presence tt he puts into the room. i started to think abt the days leading to his death and how it has brought the whole extended family closer to each other bcoz of tt event.
i think tt this year, everyone made the extra effort to come down for the lou hei so that grandma wld know tt she still means alot to us. :)
i....finally in my many years of celebrating CNY, managed to help out wif spring cleaning. we use to have a domestic helper while we were much younger, so we didn't have to lift a finger. But now tt we don't, mummy n daddy does most of the cleaning and jie jie is the one enthusiaticlly buy the new year goodies n decorates the house.
i wanted to get my 45 min worth of exercise at home on the glider thingy, but daddy cam home at the same time when mummy called to ask me to put up the curtain n change the bedsheets in my room. i dragged myself to do it...coz it juz spoiled my whole exercise plan. so i did it, i felt quite gd abt being able to help in such a way. then daddy asked me to help clean the study room windows, coz he forgot to buy something tt mummy gave instructions for. so 1st it was the bedsheets, then the grills, then the windows, then the shelves and cupboards. in the end i cleaned up 2 whole room(in different ways though). i managed to squeeze in a 30min workout b4 heading down to JP to run errands for my parents.
i guess all tt was needed out of me is to be available. plus the fact tt the person asking me to clean was daddy(someone who isn't particular abt extreme cleanliness), so long as i did it. i am glad to have been able to help. guess cleaning also helps to build bonds. i am sure my dad feels loved.
