I kept my tears for you....
i think after being in the "industry" of healthcare, i have become one of the many people who are in it juz coz they are. what i am trying to say is that i have lost my compassion for the sick. if u were to tell me tt u r sick....a list of qns will come into mind n i will start to eliminate the illness by the signs n symptoms u show.
if u ask me honestly if i feel sad for u....i will honestly tell u....NO!!!!
i have had too much of this sick thing. i see them all the time so by the time when i get home n see more sick pple,i have become immune to it.
BUT....having all these said, there is still 1 thing tt always makes me cry. DEATH. when pple are dying or have died, i cannot control my tears. it doesn't matter if i knew them or not. it always affects me. i have seen quite a few deaths in my 5+years of nursing, each time when i leave the hospital, i cannot help but break down n cry. we have be taught in sch nt to cry infront of the family, so i guess tt's why it always happen after i leave work.
then ever since grandpa passed away, talk abt loved ones tt have passed away is a definate tear jerker. maybe it's coz i miss him, or juz the simple fact tt i still live in the present moment yet holding on to the past memories. i always try to put myself in their shoes. i think God still helps to keep me human thru such things like these.
